Alim Shakh is a world-renowned conductor and professor of conducting. He is the author of many artistic projects, performs in the best halls of the world, collaborates with the stars of world culture and many major musical theatres abroad. He is also involved in teaching and training future conductors.

He graduated from the St. Petersburg State Conservatory (Academy) of N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov, where he learned from renowned professors Ilya Musin and Fyodor Kozlov. Their pupils were famous artists such as Y. Temirkanov, V. Gergiev, K. Simeonov, S. Bychkov, V. Sinaisky, S. Edwards, O. Dimitriadi and many other world-famous conductors. Today, Alim Shah is considered one of the most talented graduates of the famous Leningrad-St. Petersburg Conducting School.

Alim Shakh began his artistic career as a conductor in 1994. His name is associated with many important musical projects. In 2002 he laid the foundations of the International Symphony Orchestra “Let’s Make Music”, which was held for the first time in Russia.

In 2005 he became one of the co-authors of a new artistic trend – “Cinemaphonia”. The world premiere of this new artistic trend saw the light of day for the first time at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

Alim Shakh collaborates with various opera companies. In 2001, he received the Artist Public Recognition Prize in California (USA) for his production of G. Bizet’s Carmen. From 2003-2005 he was the music director of the St. Petersburg Musical Comedy Theatre (St. Petersburg Operetta Theatre), one of the leading theatres in Russia. In 2012-2015 he was the chief conductor of the Opera and Ballet Theater of the St. Petersburg State Conservatory. From 2008 to 2022 he was the chief conductor and artistic director of the Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra of the Novosibirsk State Philharmonic, one of the best musical ensembles in Russia. He has also served as a guest conductor in many other theatres in several countries.

Alim Shakh is an internationally recognized authority and expert in conductor education. He has worked at the St. Petersburg University of Culture and the St. Petersburg State Conservatory (Academy). Since 2014 Alim Shah has been conducting International Master Conducting Courses in the Czech Republic. Conducting students from all over the world come to the Czech Republic to work under the master’s guidance with the best orchestras: the MFO, PKF, BSOP and others.

The Maestro has given concerts in Germany, France, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, Serbia, Estonia, Lithuania, USA, Argentina, Costa Rica, South Korea, China, Japan, Kazakhstan and Russia. During his artistic career he has collaborated with many stars of the music world such as L. Pavarotti, P. Domingo, M. Rostropovich, M. Shostakovich, B. Berezovsky, R. Galliano and others.
